1. Can I earn an extra life?
Yes! Every 1,000 points you are rewarded with another life. But be aware that you can have a maximum of only 9 extra lives at any time. (Your current life plus 9 more.) |
2. How can I avoid falling objects like boulders and diamonds?
Objects do not fall faster than Rockford™ moves. Use your quick reflexes to find an escape route to the left or right.
|
3. Can Fireflies or Butterflies be destroyed?
Yes. These enemies will die if they are hit by falling objects or by exploding bombs or if they touch an Amoeba. Timing is very important when trying to arrange for a boulder to fall on them. You can also kick boulders at enemies. By killing a Butterfly, you will be rewarded with up to 9 diamonds!
|
4. Why is the Grab/Push feature implemented differently than in other Boulder Dash(R) games? Because most mobile hand-sets do not support the simultaneous use of two keys so in this game one must first press the 5 key (or ‘OK’ or ‘Answer call’ or center of ‘D-pad’ if device supports it) then press a directional key to grab or push in that direction. |
5. How many caves are in the game?
There are 30 caves, each cave is presented with three levels of difficulty, for a total of 90 caves in all!
|
6. What does it mean that each cave has three levels of difficulty?
It means that each cave has one general structure; but, objects within the cave are arranged differently, depending on the difficulty level. Also as the level of difficulty increases more diamonds must be collected in less time and enemies are more plentiful and not as easy to avoid.
|
7. How can I play the bonus cave?
If your score has reached 15,000 or more upon completion of the 29th cave, the bonus cave is presented before the last cave (which is usually cave 30) is displayed.
|
8. Is there any way to preview all of a cave?
Yes. Once in the cave, use the 'Explore Cave' option found in the Pause (in-game) menu accessed by pressing the Back soft key. The ‘Explore Cave’ feature pauses the game while letting you use the directional keys to scroll the viewing ‘window’ over any portions of the cave you desire.
|
9. How can I surround the Amoeba?
Use objects like diamonds, boulders, bombs and walls to surround the Amoeba. Rockford™ can also be used. Once surrounded, the Amoeba will change into Diamonds.
|
10. What happens if the Amoeba is not surrounded?
If it grows to about a quarter of the cave without first being surrounded, it will change into boulders.
|
11. If I get trapped by boulders, diamonds and walls, what can I do then?
You can either wait for time to run out or you can select the 'Escape' option from the Pause (in-game) menu accessed by pressing the Back soft key. If you use the ‘Escape’ feature, you will sacrifice a life but will be able to immediately restart the cave (without waiting for time to run out.).
|
12. Why can't I select any caves after cave 15 when I first start a game?
Initially caves 16-30 are locked and can't be selected. They must be reached first by winning the preceding cave to unlock them. Once unlocked, you can select them in any order you like by selecting 'Caves' from the Main menu (before a game has been started).
